Metropolitan Municipality started the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Elbistan District. The facility, which will serve as an Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant, is built on an area of 92 decares.
KAHRAMANMARAŞ (İGFA) – The Wastewater Treatment Plant, which Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality started to build in Elbistan, continues at full speed. Elbistan Wastewater Treatment Plant, which was started to be constructed by the Metropolitan Municipality, is being built with 80 percent EU grant support. The facility, which is being built on an area of 92 decares, costs 18 million Euros. In the Wastewater Treatment and Collector Line works, 9 thousand 800 meters of collector line and 60 meters of Söğütlü stream have been completed, and the ground concrete casting of the biophosphorus and ventilation pools in the plant construction has been completed. The facility, which will treat the domestic wastewater of Elbistan center with a capacity of 22.567 m³ / day, will also produce 60 percent of its energy itself.
It is being built by the General Directorate of Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality KASKI as an advanced biological wastewater treatment plant with nitrogen, phosphorus and carbon removal. Elbistan Wastewater Treatment Plant will be used in landscape irrigation as 5% recovery and the other part will be discharged into Ceyhan River.
