Kayseri’s Melikgazi Municipality organized a commemoration event in Hayrettin Karaca Park in Erenköy District, in the name of Hayrettin Karaca, known as “Toprak Dede”, who passed away last year.
KAYSERİ (İGFA) – A 20-year-old plane tree was planted in memory of Hayrettin Karaca for the meaning and importance of the day.
Melikgazi Mayor Dr. Mustafa Palancıoğlu said that they named the park Hayrettin Karaca on February 3, 2020. Reminding that they lost “Toprak Dede” on January 20, 2020, Palancıoğlu said, “Hayrettin Karaca (Toprak Dede) made a tree planting greens vaccine for both us and our children. Stating that they planted a record 70 thousand trees in Melikgazi in 2020, President Dr. Palancıoğlu said, “In 2020, we set out with 80 park projects in 80 days. In 2020, we brought over 100 parks to Melikgazi. We have had these parks with new generation playgrounds, beautiful parks made of 5, 10 and 15 year old trees like plane trees here. We planted trees, not saplings, in Melikgazi. We planted different types of trees between the ages of 5 and 50. We have about 20 thousand more trees in our nursery.
