Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Assoc. Dr. On the occasion of April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, Tahir Büyükakın transferred his presidency to Eda Atalay, a 2nd grade student at İzmit Emek Solidarity Primary School.
Atalay thanked Mayor Büyükakın for giving the seat to him on April 23, saying, “I, with my friends, have been on April 23 for 2 years. We cannot celebrate. I have a suggestion to celebrate April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day in the coming years. Come on, the grown-ups said.
Atalay, a student sitting in the chair due to the children’s holiday, asked the Izmit Emek Solidarity Primary and Secondary School to expand the Art and Music Workshop, to enlarge the School Libraries and to create new sports areas where they can do sports with their friends. President Büyükakın answered Atalay’s requests as “OK, my President” and stated that the requests will be fulfilled.
