The life and craft of Küfe Master Hakkı Ateş were discussed within the scope of the “Living İznik Treasures” documentaries realized by İznik Municipality in Bursa last year.
BURSA (İGFA) – To be forgotten The lives of the masters of handicrafts who have lost their lives and those who have overturned half a century in their profession are being documented within the scope of the “Living Treasures of Iznik” project of Iznik Municipality Press and Public Relations Unit. In this context, the fourth documentary film was made with Hakkı Ateş (76), who is 76 years old, who lives in the Sansarak neighborhood of Iznik. The life and craft of Ateş, who is the only master of the region and İznik in this field, were discussed with the art of Küfe.
Hakkı Ateş, who was born in 1945 in the Sansarak District of İznik, said, “I started this profession at the age of 14. I have been making molds for 62 years. We have grown and grown with this profession. I have raised my three sons and three daughters with this profession. ”
Hakkı Ateş (76), who shared the details of making kefeh, said,“ In the past, olives were collected with kuffs, and table olives were made in these shells. The animals were fed with these molds, and the bread from the oven was also brought out to these molds. Today, these are over now. It is mostly used as accessories and decor. I do this job fondly. Art does not get worse. One day you will be unemployed, if you have an art, you can earn money by producing even if you are unemployed. My advice to the young people is to have an art in your hands. ”
As it will be remembered, Iznik Municipality Press and Public Relations Unit made the first documentary“ Living Iznik Treasures ”with the 75-year-old barrel master İsmail Alkış, who has been living in İnikli District for 20 years. He had his second interview with Şükrü Kaya, who is a cane maker. The world-famous Müşküle İğne Oyaları was the third documentary.
