Batman University Rector Prof. Dr. İdris Demir met with press members on his first day of duty.
BATMAN (İGFA) – Rector Demir, wearing his gown at the handover ceremony, met with journalists on his first day of duty. Rector Demir explained their goals at the meeting held in the central campus.
Stating that they will organize an International Energy Summit in Batman, the capital of petroleum in order to make the Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Department dynamic, Rector Demir said, “We will bring together all sectors related to energy. We will provide the public and our students with the opportunity to examine the activities of important facilities such as TPAO, TÜPRAŞ and BOTAŞ ”. Stating that they want to make Batman University a pilot university in the field of energy within the scope of the Regional Development Focused Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program, Rector Demir stated that they aim to strengthen the academic staff of the School of Health and transform it into the Faculty of Health Sciences.
In Batman Stating that they aim to contribute to the developing textile industry as a university, Rector Demir announced their targets for tourism. Saying, “We will develop projects that will support Hasankeyf’s potential with its new face,” Rector Demir said, “We aim to open a new program for Hasankeyf Vocational School and to activate our application hotel in Hasankeyf. In this context, we also care about University-City meetings. We will hold workshops with all non-governmental organizations for the development of our city and our university. We will listen to and solve the problems of our students at the Student, Instructor, Student-Rector Meetings.
On the other hand, Rector Demir stated that they aim to increase the number of graduate programs and that they are carrying out very important studies for digitalization by YÖK during the pandemic process.
