New departments to be opened to Malatya Turgut Özal University

Rector Aysun Bay Karabulut, who hosted Malatya journalists at Turgut Özal University, said that they will open new departments to the university and bring the institution to the place it deserves.

Malatya (IGF) – January 10 Working Journalists Day This year, it was held for the first time in Malatya Turgut Özal University Conference Hall within the scope of COVID-19 measures. Representatives of press organizations, journalists, writers and university senate attended the program.

Malatya Turgut Özal University Rector Prof. Dr. Aysun Mr Karabulut described the existence of the media, which can fulfill its duty of informing people effectively, impartially and honestly, as “indispensable”.

Noting that the journalists wrote that the society could not express in words in many ways, Karabulut said that the criticisms also motivated them positively.

Stating that MTU has been carrying out its studies under the title of education, research, management and services for the benefit of society with the awareness of quality from the first day of its establishment, taking the opinions of students, staff and stakeholders, Prof. Dr. Karabulut said, “As of 2020, our academic staff increased 160 percent compared to 2018 when we were founded. Our distance education activities started when we were a 5-month university. Our university; “It will become a national and international brand university with the projects it will develop and implement.”

Malatya Journalists Association President Vahap Güner also referred to an article written by Attorney Hayrettin Abacı in 1960, saying, A university that will meet the needs of Malatya and the region should be established in Malatya. It leads the way to establish a university for 7 years. He looks that these studies do not work. He founded an association in 1967; Malatya university establishment and survival association. He struggled with this association for 7 years, and with the death of the late İsmet Pasha in 1974, he laid the foundations for the establishment of Malatya İnönü University. As a result of the struggle of our journalist masters at that time, Malatya İnönü University was born.

SECOND UNIVERSITY REQUEST

Güner spoke as follows, “We, as the Malatya Journalists Association We wanted the second university to be established in Malatya. We requested that the name of this university be Turgut Özal University. The name Turgut Özal was immediately accepted by the people of Malatya in every part of the society. We would like to express that we are happier after seeing the level that Turgut Özal University has reached today. As the press of Malatya, it is our greatest wish that our university will rise further and come to its worthy place. ”
