Mayor of Kocaeli Bay Şener Söğüt said that they will work to carry the Hereke carpet and its weaving to the place it deserves.
Gulf Mayor Şener Söğüt, who came together with carpet manufacturers in Hereke, in Kocaeli’s Körfez district, said. He announced that they started a study to increase the value of Carpet. Mayor Söğüt, who visited the tradesmen together with Deputy Mayors İbrahim Çırpan and Osman Yurt, said that the ideas of the tradesmen are important in this direction.
Mayor Söğüt said “We will keep the Hereke Carpet alive with our people”, said, “ Our Governorship and Metropolitan Municipality also have important works on the Hereke carpet. We have projects related to promoting the Hereke Carpet in a more beautiful and effective manner, branding and revitalizing the sector in making Hereke name known.
