Women showed great interest in free kickboxing course in Aydın’s Efeler District. They will be able to protect themselves against harassment and violence with the defense sports they learned in the 3-month course.
AYDIN (İGFA) – A gym manager, national athlete and also Youth and Sports in the district of Efeler, Aydın. Yaşar Akçaköse (48), who is the Provincial President of the Confederation, opened a three-month free course for all women to be able to defend themselves by being sensitive to femicide and violence against women. In the course, which lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, women learn kickboxing by wearing boxing gloves. In the hall where 25 women attend the course, women both relieve stress and feel more secure and stronger by doing sports that are willing and entertaining.
“I FEEL SAFE”
From the women who attended the course. Ayten Tay (39), married with one child, said, “I think women need more to feel fit rather than good words and compliments. I believe myself going through a little more physical strength. I wanted to take advantage of this beautiful sport that Yaşar Hodja provided us. On my way home from here, my confidence in myself was different from the moment I started here. I feel my strength better. She said that lifting weights at home or simply opening a jar lid without support from my husband and improving myself a little more makes me feel better.
“I came here to get stronger”
Ayşenur Turgut (25) said, “I came here to get stronger. I wanted to join here for violence against women or to protect myself. I can relieve the psychology and stress of the people we live with more easily here. I recommend everyone to come. I feel that the more we join here, the more we will grow. I think we will fight for violence against women altogether. We are women, fear us even if we come here. ”
” MAKING WOMEN STRONGER AND SELF-DEFENDABLE “
Sports hall manager Yaşar Akçaköse said,” the murder incidents did not make us insensitive. As the Provincial Head of the Youth and Sports Confederation, I thought what we can do for women. We set out on this path to make women stronger and more self-defensive. 25 of our female friends participated in the project we did. We want to have more mass in order to prevent violence against women. When the women participating here say, ‘I want to do this job a little more professionally’, we try to reach the goal they want. I believe that within 3 months, a woman will be victorious in person. ”
