The first phase of the International Silk Road Afforestation Project initiated by Mardin Metropolitan Municipality for a green city has been completed.
MARDİN (İGFA) – Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Environmental Protection and Control Department, green areas per person has launched a city-wide sapling planting campaign for a greener and more livable Mardin. While the projects and studies in 2021 were accelerated, approximately 17 thousand saplings were planted in Mardin, where hundreds of saplings were planted daily. Within the scope of the project, approximately 8,500 saplings consisting of oleander, yucca, blue cypress, pyramid mazi, skyrocket, mulberry, sycamore leaf mulberry, false acacia, and rosary tree were planted.
On the other hand, within the scope of the “Mardin Greening Project”, the International Silk Road Afforestation Project, which was initiated for the greening of the Silk Road, which connects Nusaybin-Kızıltepe districts to each other, is the first step from Artuklu-Nusaybin road junction to Nusaybin district. until the part is completed. The second part up to Kızıltepe district is expected to be completed by April.
