The planting of saplings for the medicinal aromatic plant garden to be established within the scope of the “Honey Forest Project” implemented by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality in order to develop beekeeping and increase honey production has started. 156 thousand saplings of 46 different plant species will meet with the soil.

DENİZLİ (İGFA) – The planting of saplings for the medicinal aromatic plant garden to be established within the scope of the Yahşiler Honey Forest Project established in cooperation with Denizli Metropolitan Municipality and Denizli Regional Directorate of Forestry has started. Following the protocol signed for the honey forest to be established on an area of ​​861 thousand 700 square meters, approximately 156 plant species including lavender, pseudoacacia, sage, rosemary, thyme, rosehip, lilac, redbud, chaste, hawthorn, jackal plum, oleaster, almond and wild pear.

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan said that Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, which is an example with its support for rural development, will provide a great support to the city economy with the honey forest to be allocated to beekeepers. Emphasizing that they attach great importance to the honey forest, Mayor Zolan stated that the project, which will contribute greatly to agriculture and animal husbandry, will also bring great returns to Denizli and the country’s economy.
