Herbal teas from Bursa Uludağ University distribute healing

Herbal teas produced and put up for sale in Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) Faculty of Agriculture are among the indispensable ingredients of the winter months. University staff and citizens are in high demand for mint, thyme, sage, linden and similar herbal teas produced within the faculty.

BURSA (İGFA) – Assoc. Dr. Working on the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants under the leadership of Oya Kaçar, BUÜ Faculty of Agriculture continues its production with the aim of identifying medicinal and aromatic plants that can be cultivated in Bursa and similar ecologies, revealing their cultivation techniques, and creating an application area for students. The Faculty, which also includes a collection garden where medicinal and aromatic plants are exhibited, also includes trial areas where undergraduate and graduate studies are carried out.

NO CHEMICAL DRUGS IS USED

Explaining that there are species in the groups of aromatic, perfume and cosmetics, paint, bulbous and bush plants, Assoc. Dr. Oya Kaçar; “The products emerging from the work done are offered to the consumers in the sales units of our Faculty with the contributions of our Dean’s Office. This year, our products include winter tea, lemongrass mixed herbal tea, thyme, mint, sage, lime, basil, lemon balm and lavender herbal teas. The prominent features of our products include not using chemical pesticides in the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants grown, working with the right species, harvesting when the active ingredient is high, drying under suitable conditions and packaging in suitable materials. ”

VEGETABLE TEA CONSUMPTION INCREASES IN WINTER

Stating that the products offered for sale in the stores in Görükle campus (next to the Medical Faculty Polyclinics entrance and PTT), besides the academic and administrative staff, citizens also showed great interest to the Faculty of Agriculture Deputy Dean Prof. Dr. Hayrettin Kuşçu; “The demands for our products, which are produced naturally and packaged in extremely hygienic conditions, satisfy us. In the winter months, people consume more herbal teas. This year we have achieved an important harvest. Everyone can take our herbal teas with peace of mind. We continue to offer our tomato paste, tomato juice, vinegar, olives, olive oil and different products to the liking of our people in our stores ”.
