The price of Gacer Bread, which is produced from genetically intact Ata seed and sold for 7.5 liras from Kent Ekmek kiosks in Kayseri, dropped to 5 liras.

KAYSERİ (İGFA) – Mayor of Kayseri Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç stated that the Develi Gacer bread, produced from Ata seed Gacer wheat, with its 28 chromosomes, is an important value.

The sale of 250 grams of bread produced by Kent Ekmek, untouched in modern conditions, from 7.5 lira to 5 lira. Saying that they have made sacrifices in the direction of agriculture, President Büyükkılıç reiterated that agriculture should be given importance. Büyükkılıç noted that they would encourage farmers to produce by guaranteeing wheat purchase.


The cereal with 28 chromosomes in the thermal spring wheat group is known as gacer in Kayseri and its surroundings. Grown in the villages of Develi, Gacer wheat is an ancient type of wheat with a non-genetically modified ancestry.

Bread made from Gacer wheat, which is identified with the district of Develi, will compete with other breads with its rich protein content, bran milling and being fully organic. Bread, which facilitates digestion with its high fiber and bran content and low glycemic index, may be a remedy for those who have weight problems. Drawing attention with its low gluten content, Gacer wheat is preferred due to its very good pulp content and high quality protein content.

Unlike other grains, Gacer can be consumed directly from the field after threshing without any processing, so it does not suffer from nutritional losses.
