Cargill doubles its exports

It has been announced that Cargill’s production facility, located in Orhangazi, doubled its exports between June 2019-May 2020. It was noted that Cargill, which exports the domestic industrial starch produced here to 18 countries, aims to make Bursa and Orhangazi the export center of industrial starch by doubling its production capacity with the new investment it plans to make

Cargill announced that the Orhangazi facility’s total industrial starch exports between June 2019 and May 2020 increased by 100 percent, reaching 134 million lira, doubling the exports of the product in question. Cargill Foods Middle East, Turkey and Africa, Chairman of the Board and CEO Murat Tarakçıoğlu, the industrial starch production capacity with a new plant announced that they plan to make their investment doubles. Tarakçıoğlu stated that they are preparing to replace Europe and the Asia-Pacific region in this field and that they will make Orhangazi an industrial starch export center. Tarakçıoğlu said, “The epidemic negatively affected trade in the world. Thanks to the high technology and R&D investment we made in Orhangazi, we transform the products grown by our country’s farmers into high value-added products and bring them together with the world. Large industrial enterprises in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa prefer our starch. “We will increase the awareness of Bursa and Orhangazi in the world markets with the new investment we have planned.” At the Orhangazi facility, an import-substitute industrial starch worth 276 million lira is produced annually. With the production capacity doubling, this value is planned to reach 394 million lira in 2021.
